Our Partners

While we at the Children’s Science Center plan to build the best museum possible, we think our region would benefit from having other resources co-located with us. To that end, we are actively pursuing partnerships with other organizations in music, art, astronomy, and robotics, just to name a few. We will keep you apprised as these partnerships are formalized.

In addition to our future program partners, we are very pleased to have established collaborative relationships with complementary organizations.

University of Maryland Human-Computer Interaction Lab (HCIL)
A collaborator since May 2007, the HCIL is renowned for a diverse array of innovations designed to enrich users' experiences with technology and has deep expertise working with children to shape and assess technology. Its achievements range from creating the International Children's Digital Library and the Classroom of the Future to extensive research into the use of children as design partners. Dr. Allison Druin, director of the HCIL, is a leading expert on how children use technology and has a firm belief that children should be included in the process of making new technology for kids. Dr. Druin leads our Advisory Board and the KidsTeam consultants who are helping us develop our museum “for kids, by kids.” For more information on the KidsTeam, visit our KidsTeam page.

Maryland Science Center
Another collaborator since November 2007, Maryland Science Center is a leading science-focused museum striving to cultivate an interest in science through interactive exhibits and educational experiences. Children’s Science Center is collaborating with MSC on the design and development of some of the museum’s interactive exhibits.

Our Mission

Children’s Science Center is dedicated to sparking children's interest in science through interactive exhibits and engaging programs that encourage exploration of math and science, stimulate creativity, and inspire through active learning.
